D'Andre Swift to Wear the Number 0 for Philadelphia Eagles

Not only does the former Georgia running back have a new team this season, he will also have a brand new number for himself, as well as the Eagles.

During the 2023 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles acquired former Georgia running back and Philly native D'Andre Swift in a trade, which would add to the long list of Bulldogs that the Eagles obtained throughout the draft. Despite not having played a down for the team yet, Swift has already etched his name in the Eagles' history books after changing his jersey number to the number 0.

Swift of course wore the number 7 during his three seasons with the Bulldogs. during his time with the team, the Philly native rushed for over 1,000 yards during the 2018 and 2019 seasons and played an integral role in the team's three straight SEC Championship appearances. He was drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions, where he would then change his number to 32. 

After another number change, Swift is now set to become the first player in Eagles history to wear the number 0, as it was previously prohibited by the league prior to a rule change just a few months ago. The change comes on the heels of another previous rule change in 2021, which allowed skill players to wear single-digit numbers on their jerseys.
