WATCH: Nakobe Dean Talks Philadelphia Drafting Georgia Players

Former Georgia linebacker Nakobe Dean talks about his current team, the Philadelphia Eagles, drafting so many Georgia players in this year's NFL draft.

Georgia has had a litany of players drafted into the NFL over the past two years. 25 of them to be exact. The Bulldogs have former players spread across the entire league but one franchise in particular has really taken advantage of the enormous amount of talent that Georgia has pumped into the league as of late. The Philadelphia Eagles have taken five former Bulldogs over the last two draft classes and even traded for former Georgia running back D'Andre Swift during the 2023 draft.

Defensive lineman Jordan Davis and linebacker Nakobe Dean were the first Georgia players to be added to Philadelphia's roster after the 2022 draft, and then the Eagles went on to select defensive lineman Jalen Carter, linebacker Nolan Smith, and cornerback Kelee Ringo. All of those names were a part of Georgia's historic 2021 defense which also played a role in the Bulldogs winning their first national title in over 40 years.

Davis and Dean were obviously very excited to learn that they would be reunited with so many of their former teammates and Dean had the opportunity to talk about it on NFL Network's show "Good Morning Football".

The former Georgia linebacker went on to say that he thinks the Eagles' GM, Howie Roseman, just went with the best players available in the draft and jokingly said it wasn't that Roseman had a thing for Georgia because he is a Florida Gator. Dean also mentioned that Roseman called and asked him about his former teammates and his thoughts on them.

Head coach Kirby Smart and his program had a lot of success with those guys starting on defense, and now the Philadelphia Eagles hope to replicate those results after they came up just short of winning a Super Bowl this past season. Georgia's football team has created a special and tight-knit culture in Athens, and now some of them get to continue that brotherhood at the professional level.
