Nakobe Dean Shines in Preseason Game for Eagles

In this story:
With the Georgia football program having 25 players drafted over the last two years, there has been a lot of positive news lately about some of the former Bulldogs and the impact they are making as a professional. The Philadelphia Eagles are responsible for drafting five Georgia players in the last two draft classes, and one of those was linebacker Nakobe Dean who appears to be settling in heading into his second year in the NFL.
In 2022, the Eagles selected Dean with the 19th pick in the third round of the draft. During Dean's rookie season, he appeared in 17 games for the Eagles but only recorded 13 total tackles and one tackle for loss on the season. However, based on his performance in last night's preseason game against the Clevland Browns, Dean appears to be hitting his stride and settling in.
During Thursday's game, Dean recorded three total tackles, but his biggest play of the night came in a goal-line situation in which he found a gap, tackled the ball carrier, and punched the ball out to keep the Browns out of the endzone while also forcing a turnover.
.@NakobeDean blew it up!

Dean hasn't been the only former Dawg that has made some noise this offseason with the Eagles. Linebacker Nolan Smith and defensive lineman Jalen Carter have also made some highlight-worthy plays as rookies in their first two preseason games with the Eagles. The Eagles had an obvious approach over the last two draft classes to hone in on drafting former Georgia players, and so far, that plan looks to be off to a great start.
