WATCH: Stetson Bennett Throws First Pitch at Braves Home Opener

Former Georgia quarterback Stetson throws first pitch at the Atlanta Braves home opener.

Winning a national championship has its perks, but winning back-to-back national championships has even more. Former Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett got to experience one of those perks as he had the honor of throwing out the first pitch at the Atlanta Braves home opener today.

Bennett had a historic season with the Bulldogs in 2022 as he not only helped lead his team to its second consecutive national title but became the program's first-ever quarterback to throw for 4,000 yards in a season. The Georgia quarterback came into his collegiate career as an afterthought on the depth chart but left as a Bulldog legend that will always be remembered.

Jordan Davis, who was a part of Georgia's 2021 national championship team, got to throw at the first pitch for the Braves last season, and now Bennett has gotten the same opportunity. Bennett also was given the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at one of the Georgia baseball games last season as well.

The NFL draft is approaching quickly, and Bennett is shaping up to be a possible mid-round draft pick. At the NFL combine, the former Georgia quarterback clocked in a 4.67 in the 40-yard event and a 4.2 in the 20-yard shuttle as well. According to his NFL draft profile, Bennett's best traits include his confidence on the field, his ability to scan through progressions, and makes throws with anticipation.

Here is what NFL analyst Lance Zierlien had to say about Bennett:

"Bennett will turn 26 years old during his rookie season and he’s small in stature relative to today’s game. Those two things will work against him, but his history of elevating his play in spotlight games against the best competition should be a factor for some teams. He doesn’t have a plus arm and his accuracy and placement can vary from drive to drive, but he throws with anticipation and has shown an ability to get through progressions as a pro-style passer. He’s rarely sacked and has the mobility to do damage outside of the pocket. Bennett has backup potential for a timing-based passing attack that includes concepts often seen in the Shanahan offense."
