Georgia Basketball vs Florida Preview

The Georgia Bulldogs will play the Florida Gators this Tuesday in what will be the final home game of the season. This will be the second meeting between these two teams this season and the 221st total. Florida currently leads the series 120-100
The previous matchup between these two teams was somewhat of a "homecoming" for Mike White. The now, Georgia head coach spent seven seasons with the Gators and the game marked his first return to Gainesville since taking the job with the Bulldogs. Unfortunately, White's homecoming was soured by an 82-75 defeat on the road. This time around, the Bulldogs will get to host the Gators on their own home floor.
Georgia's final stretch of the regular season has been one that Dawg fans and players would like to forget. The Bulldogs have lost their previous three games by a combined 103 points, which included a second-half collapse against Missouri last Saturday, Feb. 25th. A win against their arch-rival Florida is much needed to end what has been a relatively successful first season under Mike White on a high note.
Florida is on a losing streak of their own as they have lost six of its last seven games. After losing their star player Colin Castleton to a broken hand, the Gators have struggled mightily. Another trend to note is that Florida has not won an away game since the month of January.
Since returning from his injury, Georgia's leading scorer Terry Roberts has not been the same player that he was in the first half of the season. This has led to Georgia leaning on Kario Oquendo for offensive production. Oquendo will need to put together a full 40-minute performance in order to aid the Dawgs in victory.
Florida's Riley Kugel has shouldered the load offensively since Colin Castleton's injury. The freshman guard from Orlando, Florida has led the Gators in scoring in the previous three games. Georgia's primary focus on defense will need to be stopping Kugel and forcing the Florida offense to look for yet another scorer.
