Georgia Basketball vs LSU Preview

The Georgia Bulldogs will travel to Tuscaloosa on Saturday to take on the current No.1 team in the country. But first, they must handle business on their home floor against the LSU Tigers. This will be the 116th time these two teams face off in a series that LSU currently leads 69-46. The Dawgs are just 1-5 in the previous six meetings but currently find themselves as 4.5-point favorites.
Georgia is coming off of what is arguably its best win of the season after defeating the Kentucky Wildcats 75-68 and snapping an ugly cold streak. The Bulldogs will look to keep the momentum rolling against a Tigers team that has fallen on hard luck as of late.
For as bad as Georgia's past few weeks of the regular season has been, the Tigers' has been even worse. After a promising 12-1 start to the season, they have now lost 12 straight. Now, as the last-ranked team in the SEC, the Tigers desperately need a big win against an SEC opponent to salvage the morale of the season.
Terry Roberts returned to the floor for the Dawgs on Saturday against the Wildcats after a concussion sidelined him for two games. While he did not start, his return to the floor is certainly a great sign for the Bulldogs. Should he start this Tuesday, it is likely that we see a fully healthy Roberts make a full contribution to Georgia's offense.
LSU's KJ Williams will likely be the leading contributor for the Tigers. The senior forward currently leads the team in points scored, rebounds, steals, as well as blocks. The Bulldog's will need to minimize Williams' production as dominant big men in the paint have seemingly been the Achilles heel for their defense this season.
