Georgia Baseball Routes Georgia State in a Shutout

Georgia Baseball earns their fourth victory on the season moving to 4-0 after defeating Georgia State by a final score of 15-0.

The Georgia Bulldogs baseball team traveled over to Atlanta, Georgia to take on Georgia State in a single game out of conference matchup on Tuesday. The Diamond Dawgs are coming off a three-game season opener series sweep against UNC Asheville after a string of dominant offensive showings at the plate. As for the Panthers, they came into today's meeting with a record of 1-2 after dropping two games against New Orleans over the weekend.

Charlie Condon got the bats going for the Bulldogs as he belted a solo homerun at the top of the first inning to give them the early lead. The Dawgs would add another run in the inning and would extend their lead to seven by the end of the 2nd inning thanks to some errant pitches from the Panthers and a double from Logan Jordan that scored three.

Jarvis Evans started on the mound for Georgia and finished with a final stat line of three innings, one hit allowed, four walks and three strikeouts. Head coach Wes Johnson would then rely on an assortment of arms to finish the job and roll through the Panthers' lineup for the rest of the ball game. The Bulldogs would end up running away with it by a final score of 15-0.

Condon posted yet another star-caliber performance as he had a perfect day at the plate with three hits, four runs scored, three RBIs and a two homeruns. Dylan Goldstein was also a tough out on Tuesday as he finished with two hits, three runs scored, a double and a triple. Paul Toetz, the transfer from Purdue, also hopped in on the fun as he smacked a three run homerun at the top of the eighth inning to extend Georgia's lead to 14.

It was yet another complete lineup effort at the dish for the Bulldogs to help earn their fourth straight victory on the season and remain undefeated in coach Johnson's first season as head coach.

The Dawgs will now transition into another home three-game series this weekend against Northern Kentucky before facing Presbyterian and Michigan State at Foley Field during the middle of the week and then traveling to Georgia Tech on Friday for a three-game rivalry series.
