Georgia Finishes Season With Loss to LSU 72-69

The Georgia Bulldogs season ended tonight as they were defeated by the LSU Tigers by a core of 72-69. The loss was the Bulldog's sixth straight to close out their first season under head coach Mike White in which they finished 16-16.
The two teams traded blows with LSU holding a small lead for the majority of the first half before blowing it open to a double-digit lead at the five-minute mark. Eight turnovers in the first half were the main culprit for the Bulldogs' offensive struggles, as they found themselves trailing 42-30 at halftime.
The Tigers maintained their large lead until the Dawgs were able to cut it down to five with about twelve minutes remaining. The game remained close and Georgia was able to take the lead with just over four minutes remaining thanks to a three-pointer and a pair of free throws from Jabri Abdur-Rahim. However, a four-point play by the Tigers helped them regain the lead and they would never look back.
The Bulldogs were led by Braelen Bridges and Terry Roberts who both turned in excellent performances despite the loss. The duo combined for 25 of Georgia's 67 points. The team had five total players reach the 10-point mark.
KJ Williams was unsurprisingly the leader for the Tigers with 18 points and eight rebounds in the game. He was one of four Tigers to finish the evening with more than 10 points. Freshman forward Shawn Phillips also turned in an excellent performance with 13 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
