SEC TOURNAMENT: Georgia Basketball vs LSU Preview

The Bulldogs will look to advance in tournament play as they take on the LSU Tigers in Nashville

The Georgia Bulldogs will play their first game of the SEC Tournament this Wednesday night as they take on the Tigers of LSU. This will be the second matchup of the season between these two programs and the 117th all-time. LSU currently leads the series 69-47.

The first meeting between these two teams took place in Athens and saw the Bulldogs win on a last-second field goal by Justin Hill. Georgia will attempt to repeat its successes this evening. This time, away from their home floor.

Both teams finished the season in disappointing fashion as the Bulldogs dropped their final five matchups of the regular season while the Tigers have won just once in their last 18 games. Their lousy finishes have caused them to fall to the bottom third of the 14-team bracket.

Georgia's offense has been inconsistent all season and has been led by numerous different players in multiple games. Without a true leading scorer, the team will rely on whoever has the hot hand, whether it's Justin Hill, Braelen Bridges, Terry Roberts, or Kario Oquendo. Braelen Bridges was the team's leading scorer in the Bulldog's previous matchup with the Tigers so look for him to hopefully have another big night.

KJ Williams has been the sole beacon of light for the Tigers' offense. The senior forward from Cleveland, Mississippi recently earned second-team All-SEC honors and is currently leading the team in points, blocks, rebounds, and steals. Whether or not Williams turns in a strong showing against the Bulldogs will likely be the deciding factor in the game.
