After posting a historical draft class just a year ago, Georgia's upcoming NFL draft class is looking to put up an impressive showing this year as well. With 12 total players receiving an invite to the NFL combine this year, the Bulldogs will once again be well-represented at the draft.

One of the players who received an invite was tight end Darnell Washington. The monster-sized tight end possesses a very unique skill set as he not only is an elite end-of-line blocker but is also a major threat in the passing game. In three seasons at Georgia, Washington racked up 45 receptions, 774 receiving yards and three touchdowns. He also averaged 17.2 yards per reception over those three seasons.

Washington is a player that many NFL teams are itching to get their hands on and is projected to be a potential first-round pick. If he does go that early in the draft, he would place himself in the NFL draft history books for the tight end position.

NFL draft analyst Matt Miller had Washington being selected by the Philadelphia Eagles with the last pick in the first round in his latest mock draft. He was also the second tight end off the board for Miller.

With the Georgia tight end already having first-round buzz around his name, the NFL combine event will be a great opportunity for him to really solidify himself to be worthy of a day-one pick. Washington's size and college tape speaks for themselves, so testing well at the combine could help seal the deal for him.

The tight-end position has quickly become extremely valuable, especially at the NFL level. Every team is looking to find the next Travis Kelce or the next George Kittle so with how unique Washington's skill set is, general managers are going to be intrigued.
