Kelee Ringo Picked By Philadelphia Eagles

DB Kelee Ringo was taken off the board by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kelee Ringo, the third-year defensive back for Georgia, was selected as the number  105th overall by the Philadelphia Eagles. Ringo becomes the 26th DB selected into the NFL Draft from UGA and the eighth DB in Kirby Smart's tenure.

The former 5-star prospect and No. 1 CB recruit in the country for 2020, Ringo had an off-season injury that held him out his freshman year with the Dawgs. Starting in both his sophomore and junior season, Ringo was a cornerstone piece in securing both national titles for the Dawgs.

One of the biggest moments of his life and career was the game-sealing 79-yard pick-six Ringo had against Alabama. Finally conquering the Tide, Ringo carried his abilities into the next season, which saw Georgia winning their second national championship convincingly against TCU.

During his time at Georgia, Ringo racked up 76 total tackles, three tackles for loss, and four interceptions. He made the game-sealing interception against Alabama in the 2021 national championship as a redshirt freshman. He then followed that up with another stellar season serving as Georgia's number-one cornerback.

The All-SEC second-team defensive back has been an anchor for Georgia's defense for the last two seasons and played a major role in the secondary. The Bulldogs have had a lot of success over the past few years in developing high-caliber defensive backs, and Ringo is yet another example of that. Leading up the draft, former NFL defensive star, Richard Sherman, compared Ringo to a young Patrick Peterson who was also a stellar defensive back at the professional level.
