Potential Day Two NFL Draft Selections for Georgia

The first round of the NFL draft is in the books, and it was another great showing from the Bulldogs. Jalen Carter was the first former Bulldog off the board when the Eagles traded up a spot to select him ninth overall. Broderick Jones was then selected a few slots behind Carter by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 14th pick, and then the Philadelphia Eagles snagged themselves another Bulldog in the first round as they picked Nolan Smith with the 30th pick. Now with day two on the horizon, who could be next from Georgia?

There are still nine former Georgia players that remain on the draft board and a few of them have a good chance of being taken in the second or third round today. Head coach Kirby Smart is just two picks away from reaching 50 total players being drafted since he took over at the University of Georgia, and he will more than likely reach that milestone during day two of the draft.

Here is who could likely be drafted on the second day of the draft from Georgia:

Darnell Washington, TE

Washington was considered a potential late first-round selection by multiple draft experts. With both Michael Mayer out of Notre Dame and Dalton Kincaid from Utah off the board now, there is a strong chance that Washington could be the first tight end taken on the second day of the draft.

At the NFL combine, Washington clocked in a 4.64 in the 40-yard event at 6 foot 7 inches and 264 pounds. He also recorded a 4.08 in the 20-yard shuttle, did 21 bench press reps, and had a 10' 2" broad jump. Washington is as freaky as they come from a prospect standpoint and his versatility as a tight end is what makes him a highly valued prospect and why there is a good chance he will be taken in the second or third round.

Kelee Ringo, DB

Like Washington, Ringo is another player that some considered to be a potential late first-round selection. There were four cornerbacks taken in the first round yesterday which means Ringo's name could be near the top of the list on the position rankings. He had a solid performance at the NFL combine as he clocked in a 4.36 in the 40-yard event and measured in at 6-foot-2 and 207 pounds.

Ringo has tremendous size for his position and has the elite speed to go alongside it which are two things that NFL evaluators love at nearly every position. The former Georgia defensive standout may not have heard his name called on day one, but there is a good chance he goes early in the second round on day two.

Kenny McIntosh, RB

Running backs don't hold the value that they once did in the NFL draft, but two of them got selected within the first 15 picks yesterday as the Atlanta Falcons took Bijan Robinson and the Detroit Lions picked up Jahmyr Gibbs. McIntosh was predicted to go in the fourth round by NFL.com, but with how teams appear to be valuing versatile running backs right now, there's a chance he goes earlier than that.

McIntosh may not have the ceiling that Gibbs or Robinson has, but he is a dual-threat out of the backfield, and that's the style of running back that the majority of NFL organizations have been targeting over the years. It still might be an outsider's chance that McIntosh goes on day two but at the same time, round one proved that it's certainly possible.
