Georgia Wins Thriller in Athens Over Tigers 65-63

The Georgia Bulldogs extended their win streak to two after defeating the LSU Tigers in a game that came down to the final seconds of play.

After an exciting win on Saturday over Kentucky, the Georgia Bulldogs were victorious in another thriller in Athens as they defeated the LSU Tigers 65-63. The win marks the second straight for the Bulldogs.

Georgia opened the game with a full-court press on defense, leading to a steal and layup by Jusuan Holt. They successfully continued the defensive strategy throughout the majority of the first half. However, the Dawg's poor shooting allowed the Tigers to take the lead around the 10-minute mark. They trailed by as much as 8 points before crawling back to head into the locker room down 26-28

With around 2 minutes remaining, Georgia guard Kario Oquendo went down with what appeared to be a right knee injury, he was unable to walk off on his own power and was helped off the court by players and coaches. He would thankfully, return to the court in the second half.

The Bulldogs' offense was much more efficient in the second half as they took the lead with just under 14 minutes remaining. The two teams traded leads for the ensuing 8 minutes before Georgia began to build a lead thanks to much more efficient shooting. However, the Dawgs' inability to put the Tigers away made for another close finish. Up by 1 with just four seconds to go, the Bulldogs' defense stole the inbound to seal the game.

The Bulldogs were led by an ensemble of scorers as 9 of the 10 players to see the floor scored at least three points. Jabri Abdur-Rahim came off the bench to score 11 points with his 3/6 shooting from beyond the arc. Braelen Bridges finished the night as Georgia's leading scorer with 13 points and 3 rebounds.

KJ Williams was unsurprisingly the most productive player for the Tigers. The senior from Cleveland, Mississippi finished the night with 18 points and 9 rebounds. He was the lone bright spot in a Tiger offense that shot less than 40% from the field.

The Bulldogs will travel to Tuscaloosa this Saturday to face the SEC's top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. It will be the first game of the season's most difficult road stretch for the Dawgs as they head will head to Arkansas next Tuesday.
