Georgia’s Charlie Condon Breaks Homerun Record for SEC Freshman

The Georgia Bulldog's first baseman, Charlie Condon made SEC baseball history today, as he broke the conference's freshman home run record against the Missouri Tigers this afternoon. The run was his 23rd total of the 2023 season and broke the previous record, which was held by Vanderbilt’s Pedro Alvarez. Alvarez hit a total of 22 home runs during the 2006 season.

Condon, a redshirt freshman has been one of the Bulldog's most productive players during the 2023 season. He currently leads the team with 64 RBI's and his batting average of .413 is currently the highest on the team as well. The next most efficient hitter for the Bulldogs is Connor Tate, who has 14 total home runs.

Georgia will likely continue to rely on Condon's tremendous season as it nears the end of their regular season. The Bulldogs will be in Columbia, Mo. tomorrow as they finish their series with the Missouri Tiger's before returning to Athens to host Western Carolina on May 16th. They will then, close out the regular season against the LSU Tigers. The Tiger's are currently the 2nd ranked team in the SEC West.
