Jac'Qawn McRoy Talks Relationship With Georgia and Stacy Searels

The University of Georgia is a unique environment for the world's top recruiters. As a position coach for the Bulldogs under Kirby Smart, you're afforded the sport's largest resource pool, you can go and see any player in the country. But it's your room. Who and what type of players you fill that room with, that's on you as a coach. So, as position coaches change, it's important to identify what each respective coach values on the recruiting trail.

With offensive line coach Stacy Searels, one thing is for certain, he likes them big and tall. With the 2024 cycle being his first full class to his own, it's become clear that he's prioritizing size along with athleticism.

This brings us to JacQawn McRoy, arguably one of Georgia's most important targets at the tackle position in 2024. The 6'8, 355-pound tackle out of Clay-Chalkville, Alabama has felt the love from the national champions lately.

"Every time he comes up to the school we are laughing and giggling. Man, I love coach Searels. So at the time, I was 385/390 and we were just talking about my weight and laughing about it. I'm back down to about 355 now, going to be about 340 by the time the season starts."

McRoy recently released a top-10 featuring Miami, Kentucky, Florida, Ole Miss, Oregon, LSU, Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas, and Georgia made the cut for the big man. But of that Top-10, Georgia holds a special place according to McRoy.

"I would have to say Georgia's in the top-3 of my top 10." McRoy went on to say that he's got an unofficial visit to Georgia planned for the middle of April sometime, but has to get that nailed down with coach and that he would be taking a visit to Clemson as well in March but those were the only two planned visits for now.
