A hush fell over the Georgia crowd this Saturday when star tight end Brock Bowers limped off the field after suffering what appeared to be a left ankle sprain against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Bowers was then helped to the locker room and would not return.

Following the game, head coach Kirby Smart provided an update on the status and severity of Bowers' injury.

“Ankle sprain. I don’t know how severe.” Smart also mentioned X-rays were negative, and that it initially looks like a low ankle sprain but won’t know until later.

Bowers and the rest of the injured Bulldogs will look to take advantage of the bye week to rest their injuries before they travel to Jacksonville, Florida for their annual meeting against the Florida Gators.
