Kirby Smart Visits UGA Softball Team Ahead of Postseason Tournament

As Georgia’s softball team prepares for a postseason trip to Florida. They were paid a visit by Georgia football coach Kirby Smart

This Thursday, the Georgia Bulldogs softball team will take on the Florida State Seminoles in Tallahassee, Fl. as part of Super Regional play in the NCAA tournament.

With the prospect of winning a national title overhead, the team was paid a visit by a Georgia coach who knows a thing (or two) about winning championships himself. Football head coach Kirby Smart.

Smart’s encouragement for being “elite” and preforming to the highest of your abilities is a message that has flooded the University’s athletic program over the past few seasons as multiple Bulldog teams across numerous sports have seemingly adopted the mantra.

Georgia’s softball team in particular has been a major catalyst for being “elite” as of late. The Bulldogs currently boast an impressive 42-13 record and are making their 21st consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament, in which they have advanced to the Super Regional round for a total of 12 times.

Georgia and Florida State will begin their best-of-three series this Thursday at 7 p.m. The winner will advance to the eight-team Women’s College World Series held in Oklahoma City.
