Jim Harbaugh Says Michigan Will Shatter Georgia's NFL Draft Record

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh claims that the Wolverines will shatter Georgia's NFL draft record for the most players taken in a single class which the Bulldogs set in 2022.

No team in college football has been developing NFL-caliber talent at the rate that Georgia has over the last two years. The Bulldogs set a new draft record for the most players taken in a single class as they had 15 total players selected in the seven-round draft following their national during the 2021 season. They then followed that up by having ten more players taken in this year's draft. Head coach Kirby Smart and his team have made a statement the last two seasons, but now another program is looking to make its own.

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has helped get the ship back on course for the Wolverines after helping lead them to back-to-back playoff appearances. Unfortunately, they were first-round exits both times, but Michigan looks to be settling in as one of the consistent powerhouses in college football. So much so that Harbaugh recently came out and said that he not only thinks Michigan is going to break Georgia's NFL draft record this next year but blow it out of the water.

Having 20 players taken in a single draft class would be an absurd amount, and it also raises the expectations of what Michigan should be able to accomplish during the 2023 season. After all, many consider the 2021 Georgis squad to be one of the best in college football history, so having that many professional football players on one team should go a long way for the Wolverines. The most players Michigan has ever had taken in a single draft class was set in 2017 when they had 11 players selected.

It's hard to say if Harbaugh's statement is accurate, considering the season hasn't even started yet, and we are unsure of which players will actually declare for the draft and be draft eligible. Michigan is set to have another very successful season, but Harbaugh appears to be pushing all of his chips in on the 2023 season.
