No. 1 Player in Georgia Sammy Brown Announces College Decision
The Nation's No. 1 inside linebacker and Peach State product Sammy Brown has announced his college commitment. Brown will be playing his college ball at Clemson.
Brown is rated as the top player in the state of Georgia and the 14th overall best player in the country for the 2024 recruiting class, according to 247 composite rankings. The Georgia native lives right down the road from the University of Georgia but will be a Tiger instead for his college career.
The Bulldogs came into the month of June with a lot of momentum after picking up several big-time commitments, which included quarterback Dylan Raiola, the number-one player in the country. It's not often that Georgia loses out on a recruitment within their own state borders, but Clemson has edged out the Bulldogs in this one.
Georgia has done an impeccable job when it comes to developing players at the linebacker position specifically, but they will have to look elsewhere at that spot on the roster now that Brown is off the board. The Georgia native visited Clemson earlier in the month, which likely sealed the deal for him. Brown was scheduled to visit Athens on June 9th.
