Kirk Herbstreit States he Thinks Alabama and LSU are "A Little Bit Ahead" of Georgia

ESPN analyst and college football personality Kirk Herbstreit has already given Kirby Smart some bulletin board material heading into this summer

During the 2022 college football season, Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs utilized doubts from the public and experts as a form of motivation during their campaign which eventually led to a perfect 15-0 season and a dominant 65-7 national championship victory over the TCU Horned Frogs.

But despite not having lost a game in over 400 days and being reigning back-to-back national champions. it seems that Kirby Smart and the company may already have a source of motivation for the 2023 season.

Early this week Kirk Herbstreit, a highly respected analyst for ESPN spoke with On3 about his thoughts as to what the SEC would look like for the 2023 season. What he said wasn't exactly something that Georgia fans will be excited about.

"Those three (Georgia, Alabama, and LSU) are gonna be everybody's three. As we sit here right now, I'm gonna wait to see where we are in August. But I believe Bama and LSU, are just a little bit ahead of Georgia as we are getting into the summer months."

The Bulldogs of course defeated Alabama in their most recent matchup during the 2022 national championship. And dominated LSU by a score of 50-30 in the 2022 SEC Championship the following season.

While replacing a starting quarterback, an offensive coordinator, and a handful of key contributors on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball certainly warrants suspicion. It is highly unlikely that Kirby Smart will not use Herbstreit's comments as bulletin board material as the Dawgs chase a historic three-peat heading into the 2023 season.
