Stetson Bennett Selected by the Los Angeles Rams

Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett has been selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Another class of former Bulldogs are making their long-time dreams of playing in the NFL a reality this weekend during the draft, and the most recent to do so is Stetson Bennett who has been drafted by the Los Angeles Rams . Bennett finished his college career as one of the most decorated quarterbacks in Georgia history and will forever be remembered as a program legend.

At the NFL combine, Bennett clocked in a 4.67 time in the 40-yard event and measured in at 5-foot-11 and 192 pounds. The former Georgia quarterback also locked in a 33.5" vertical, a 9' 10" in the broad jump, and ran a 4.2 in the 20-yard shuffle. He may not be the biggest size-wise, but Bennett carries some solid athleticism with him to the NFL.

Coming out of high school, Bennett was not a highly coveted prospect. He had offers from several mid-major colleges but ultimately elected to walk on at Georgia. He would later transfer to Jones County Junior College before transferring back to Georgia, this time on scholarship. A couple of years later, he became the team's full-time starter, and the rest is history.

Throughout his college career, Bennett threw for 8,429 yards, 66 touchdowns, and had a career completion percentage of 65. In 2022, Bennett became Georgia's first-ever 4,000-yard passer in a season, became a Heisman trophy finalist, and won his second consecutive national title as the Bulldogs' starter.

Despite the immense amount of success Bennett had at the college level, he will once again have to prove himself in the NFL. This is something that the Georgia quarterback is no stranger to as he spent a lot of time as a second and even third-string quarterback for a lot of his career, but he is proven he is up the for the challenge and is more than capable of overcoming it.
