Georgia Recruits React to Todd Monken's Departure

Todd Monken is leaving Georgia for the NFL. How did some major recruits in the 2024 class and beyond react?

The almost inevitable news of Todd Monken headed to the NFL was finalized on Tuesday. The two-time national champion OC is headed to the Baltimore Ravens, he will be replaced by Mike Bobo, who spent 2007-2014 as the OC for Georgia.

While UGA will certainly miss Monken, there is expected to be little to no drop-off on the recruiting trail. In fact, Mike Bobo has an impressive track record as a recruiter in the SEC.

Here is how four UGA commits and targets reacted to the news.

2024 WR commit Sacovie White

"I feel like it was the best decision for him and his family, I know that we lost a big piece in Georgia’s offense, and I also know that being around the UGA coaches they probably knew it was coming, but we are gonna miss him but I know that there is another OC coming and we are only gonna grab the best of the best."

2024 QB commit Ryan Puglisi

"I am very happy for Coach Monken. He was great to my family and I. I am super excited to work with Coach Bobo, we have a great relationship ourselves and I am looking forward to working with him."

2025 QB target Antwann Hill Jr

"Me and coach Monken had a good relationship, he would talk to me every once in a while but overall I loved that he corrected me on footwork drills and things that would help my game whenever I went up there for camp."
