Updated ACC Baseball Standings After Sunday's Games (3/17)

Georgia Tech completed a sweep of No. 13 NC State this weekend to start 3-0 in conference play

Another weekend of ACC Baseball is now in the books and there was some interesting movement in the standings.

Georgia Tech made a big statement this weekend by sweeping No. 13 NC State and extending their win streak to eight. It was an impressive weekend for the Yellow Jackets and they concluded it by run-ruling the Wolfpack on Sunday 15-5. The offense is playing at a high level right now and the pitching was good enough over the weekend. If the pitching can continue to improve and the offense remains this good, Georgia Tech might be a factor in the ACC race.

The other team that is perfect in conference play is Florida State and they are not only perfect in ACC play, but they are 18-0 overall.

Clemson is ranked No. 10 in D1Baseball's top 25 and they got a series win against another top ten 10 and that is Duke. The Tigers are 17-2 and look like a complete team.

NC State is third in the Atlantic division and they had a tough weekend. The Wolfpack were swept by Georgia Tech and fell to 3-3 in the conference. NC State should bounce back, but they did not play well this weekend.

Boston College (3-4), Wake Forest (2-4), Louisville (1-2), and Notre Dame (0-6) make up the rest of the Atlantic Division. Wake was the preseason favorite in the ACC, but they have struggled so far this season.

Georgia Tech (3-0) is the only team unbeaten team in conference play after sweeping NC State.

Virginia Tech (5-1) got the series win over Louisville this weekend and is now 14-4. The Hokies were picked near the bottom of the standings at the beginning of the year, but they are off to a solid start.

North Carolina is one of the other ACC teams ranked in the top 25, but they lost their series to Miami this weekend and are 4-2 in conference play. They have a big series next weekend vs Georgia Tech.

Miami has had to face North Carolina and Virginia in their first two ACC series of the year and they have come away victorious in all of them. It was a rough non-conference slate for the Hurricanes, but they have been impressive so far.

Duke and Virginia are both 3-3 and are expected to contend for the Coastal title.

Pitt (1-6) is off to the worst start in the division by far.
