BREAKING: 2025 Four-Star Georgia Tech Target Tae Harris Makes College Decision

Harris is one of the top defensive backs in the country in the class of 2025

One of Georgia Tech's top targets in the 2025 class just announced his college decision on social media and it was not for the Yellow Jackets.

2025 four-star defensive back Tae Harris announced on social media today that he is committed to Clemson. Harris plays at Cedartown High School and the former Georgia Bulldogs commit had visited The Flats in the past few months, but Dabo Swinney and Clemson were able to get his commitment today.

On the 247Sports Composite, Harris is rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 193 prospect in the country, the No. 15 safety, and the No. 26 prospect in the state of Georgia. He also has offers from Colorado, Florida, LSU, Miami, Tennessee, and UCF, among others. He has been one of the fastest-rising prospects in the 2025 class this spring and the Tigers landed his commitment today.

Brent Key and his coaching/recruiting staff hoping to put together a strong 2025 class to follow up the strong finish they had to their 2024 class. They have yet to get a commitment in the 2025 class and they would have loved to have added Harris to the class.

Here are some stats and info on Harris courtesy of 247Sports:

"Also runs track. Took 10th at GHSA 4A meet as a sophomore in the 100-meter dash. Owns times of 10.73, 10.86 (-0.5), 10.90, 10.99, 11.01 and 11.03 in the event.

2022: Two-way player at Cedartown, which played for a Peach State AAAA title. Registered 59 tackles, 5 PBU and 2 INT on defense while adding 12-280-3 rushing and 4-92-2 receiving on offense."

Georgia Tech is coming off of its best recruiting class since 2020 and Key did a great job of closing that class. Key and his staff flipped defensive end Amontrae Bradford from Colorado and landed four-star running back Anthony Carrie over Texas A&M and North Carolina on signing day. This is a loss for the Yellow Jackets though and Clemson is getting one of the top defensive backs in the state of Georgia.
