It is officially camp season in the high school recruiting world.

One of the top camps each year is the Under Armour Series. Yesterday, some of the top prospects in the 2025 and 2026 classes gathered at Carrolton High School to compete and they put on a show. There were several Georgia Tech targets performing yesterday as well.

So who were the top performers? Here is who stood out to me yesterday.

2025 OL Mario Nash (Kemper County, MS)

It didn’t matter which defensive lineman went against him. Nash dominated the competition. he was getting work at right tackle against speedy edge rushers. He stayed in front of them the whole time. Nash also went up against a few power rushers in 1-on-1s but still defeated the competition and anchored down, not letting the rushers get to the cone. You can tell he was putting because his Under Armour shirt had blood on it. He is somebody you want protecting your quarterback because he gives his all every rep. Nash won offensive lineman MVP at the Under Camp Series MVP.

Here is what he had to say about the camp and what he to work on in the future:

“I competing and seeing familiar faces. All of these guys here are elite, so is a big thing. I want to put more weight on, and become stronger while maintaining my speed and footwork,” said Nash.

Nash is very high on Georgia Tech and plans to get on campus in the spring.

“I like Georgia Tech. They communicate with me a lot. I have to get down there this spring, so I can actually see the campus because I was only there for a football game. I am ready to get down there and see the campus."

2025 EDGE Jordan Carter (Douglas County, GA)

Carter is a player who continues to get better whenever you see him. He has a quick first step off the ball which makes life difficult for offensive linemen to In 1-on-1s, he used his hands very well to get offensive linemen off him and beat them to the spot. He had a lot of wins on the day. Carter also possesses a great rip move and showed that he possesses a few pass-rush moves that can make it difficult for linemen. Carter won defensive lineman MVP at the Under Armour camp and talked about his biggest takeaway from the camp.

“One thing I want to take from here and take to Douglas County is using my voice. I was using my voice a lot out there and being vocal. I want to use that with my teammates and get to the state championship. I have to be vocal this year to get to where I want to be,” said Carter.

2025 OL Tavaris Dice (Langston Hughes High School, GA)

The Langston Hughes offensive lineman had a strong day at the Under Armour Camp series. Dice continued to flash in offensive line drills with how quickly he was getting in and out of breaks. In 1-on-1s, he showed his potential in pass protection the next level and rarely lost a rep on the day. Dice picked up an offer from the Yellow Jackets in December but is currently trending Auburn, per 247Sports.

2025 DL Justus Terry (Manchester, GA)

Terry is a beast in the middle rushing the passer and he displayed that at camp. He uses his size, strength, and athleticism like no other. He seems like the ideal prototype of what the Bulldogs have been able to produce at the defensive line spot in Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter, who are now in the NFL. He line drills look easy showcasing his full skillset. He moves well for his size and he 1 on 1 drills. His first step was causing havoc for offensive linemen who were too slow to adjust. His sheer strength was also on display on where he walked the offensive lineman all the way to the cone with ease. There is a reason Terry is one of the top players in the country and he showcased it. He was named On3 MVP the camp.

2025 WR Travis Smith (Westlake High School, GA)

WR Travis Smith announced Georgia Tech as one of his finalists and top school recently and he is a special playmaker. Press or off coverage didn’t matter for Smith. He dominated both coverages. He thrives on the physicality of the DBS and uses it against them. Smith is a pristine route runner that is great at creating separation. He is known for high-pointing the football and rising over defenders for acrobatic catches. An underrated part of his game is the fluidity in his footwork and movement. Despite being 6’3 he can move like a slot wide receiver and torch dbs. The best part of his game on Sunday was his releases off the line. Within the first two seconds of the route in 1-on-1s, he had the defensive back beat off the ball. If that continues, he could be in for a dominant 2024 season.

This is what he had to say about the camp:

“There was a lot of talent out there. It was good reps and bad reps and everything in the middle. I tried my hardest but definitely some good guys out here that I am going to be competing with for the next decade,” said Smith.

Here is what he had to say about Georgia Tech on Sunday:

“Georgia Tech is close to home and it’s in Atlanta. I love Atlanta. Everybody has been contacting me day in and day out letting me know how much they need me, and how much they want me. The visit was cool and everything went well. Great I love it,” said Smith Jr.

2026 LB Tyler Atkinson (Grayson, GA)

I didn’t get the chance to see Tyler at linebacker but he was a standout in the offensive line and defensive line reps. He did lose a rep to Alex Payne but he was phenomenal throughout the day. The most impressive thing about Atkinson is his versatility. He played both linebacker and defensive lineman How many inside linebackers can you say that can be elite at rushing the passer but also a stalwart in the middle of the It is a rare site to see and Atkinson thrives in practically any role you throw in front of him. He won Under Armour Camp MVP at linebacker.

2025 OL Alex Payne (Gainesville, GA)

Payne is the real deal. Any qualms or questions about his camp were answered. His most impressive rep came against five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson who had a dominant day defensively. Payne not only won the rep but stifled him and showed his ability to stand firm on contact and use his footwork and strength to slow down defenders. He is also good at getting his hands inside and readjusting them so he doesn’t draw a penalty.

A welcome sight for Tar Heels fans. He possesses great athleticism and moves very well for his size. Payne displayed this throughout the offensive line drills during the day. He was also selected as a top performer by ON3 Sports.

DB Zelus Hicks- Hicks is a long and rangy defensive back that is beginning to fill out his frame well. When he was going back to drills, his technique and footwork were on full display. You can tell he practices those types of drills by the fluidity of his movement and how he gets in and out of breaks. He also had some really good reps in 1-on-1s and was playing the ball well throughout. I think the most impressive thing about Hicks is that you can tell he just wants it. After the defensive backs got pulled over to begin 1-on-1s, Hicks was asking the UA coach for extra work on a drill. He completed it to perfection and asked him what he could do better next time. He obviously passes the eye test, but his mentality is also great. Some players when they get a five-star rating get complacent and fall victim to the hype. Hicks is not one of them because he is always trying to get better. He proved that on Sunday. was over, he received an Under Armour All-American game invite after his performance.

2025 DL Isaiah Gibson (Warner Robins, GA)

One thing about Gibson that stood out from the camp is his quickness. He showed the potential that he could not only play on Saturdays but also on Sundays. Yes, he is that good. In 1-on-1s, he was great at walking the lineman back to the cone. His most impressive rep was when he used his quick first step and long reach to beat the lineman in a matter of seconds.

Here is what he wants to work on this offseason:

“I want to stay low. I feel like my flexibility has gotten a little bit better. I want to perfect my craft in everything. That is running, getting off the ball, hand movement and hand placement. I feel like everything can be improved,” said Gibson.

Gibson was repping his Georgia gear on Sunday including flip-flops and a jacket after the event was over. Media flocked to get an interview with him and find interest in programs. He is very high on Georgia and NC State.

“I am going to try and get to NC State this summer and all the schools. I feel like I need to make decision. NC State is an ACC school but they are not a big school, but they are good. I feel like they are a season away from getting ten wins. I feel like if you get a 10-win season in college football that is amazing to be honest because it is hard to win in college.

Here is what Gibson had to say about his relationship with Georgia Tech.

“We talk from time to time but I am going to be honest, coach Marco Coleman was my guy. Me and coach Coleman had a tight relationship and he had a top relationship with my mom. It is what it is. Georgia Tech is still Georgia Tech,” said would love to team up with Isiah Canion. Me, Isiah and Rasean Dinkins have been playing together since we were little. I have been playing with them since I first moved to Warner Robins. Just because some coaching staffs change doesn’t really change anything foreal. It is still Georgia Tech and they are still a high priority for me.”

All of these players have great potential and have shown they have what it takes to be dominant on Saturdays.
