Georgia Tech has a big matchup against Clemson this week and there is a lot on the line for the Yellow Jackets. Georgia Tech is hoping to beat Clemson for the first time since 2014, win in Death Valley for the first time since 2008, and clinch bowl eligibility for the first time since 2018. A win would be a big deal for this program, but how healthy will Georgia Tech be going into the game?

When speaking with the media yesterday, head coach Brent Key updated the status of some guys that got banged up against Virginia last Saturday and also gave an update on injured wide receiver Leo Blackburn:

"Leo had knee surgery five months ago on his knee, he would be Bionic Man if he was full playing right now, that would be pretty cool. Ahmari (Harvey) went down with a lower ankle injury, he was out there today and he is progressing good, faster than we thought at the game, if anyone saw Ahmari on the sideline, he is running up and down, trying to get that thing loose to get back in that game, he is a competitive little sucker now. I thought Kenan (Johnson) played a really good football game, he really did, I know he got banged up a little bit a few games ago but he has really elevated himself the last few games he has played and played really good football, he got hit in the thigh but he was a full go today. Horace (Lockett) is the one, if you see that play he made that happened, that is a big man that is moving square down the line of scrimmage to tackle that guy and actually when you saw the play, I was worried about the kid from Virginia, I really was so Horace will bounce back, smiling and laughing, typical Horace that he is and hopefully he is able to go full go and give us a bunch of reps on Saturday."

From the way it sounds, the Yellow Jackets are not going to be missing anyone on Saturday, but we will have to wait and see for sure.

Despite their 5-4 record and seemingly down season, Key still says that Clemson is the standard in the ACC and winning this game will be a challenge:

"The first thing is focus on ourselves and prepare the right way, be the best version of ourselves this week, that is myself, coaches, everyone, have the best plan, the best plan of attack, the players believe in the plan, play fast. Going in there, it is a stadium, it has two end zones, two sidelines, 120 total yards, there is a big hill that people roll down on, kind of like last week, a grassy area, similar to last week, similar to Wake Forest, similar to the grassy area in the end zone, it gets loud. I think the only difference you will see is that we will prepare for crowd noise this week. Not just later in the week but every day we will have crowd noise, prepare for that to go into the game.

They are a good football team, a really good football team. I don't look at records, I look at film. There are things that Dabo is doing now to play to the strengths of his team. Don't forget who Dabo's college football coach was, he played for Coach Stallings if I am not mistaken. He knows how to win games that way too and their defense is... you want to talk about a standard, their defense is as good as anybody that you see in the country collectively.

They have good players and they have good players that are older and experienced and collectively and also have good players that are younger. Offensively, I think they are finding themselves an identity right now that is leading to success for them and led them to success last week."
