Georgia Tech opens as a massive underdog against Miami

Georgia Tech is coming off of a stunning loss to Bowling Green

Georgia Tech is traveling to take on No. 17 Miami this weekend and are going to be doing so as a three-touchdown underdog according to Circa Sports. Miami opened as a 23 point favorite over the Yellow Jackets.

Georgia Tech suffered one of its worst losses in recent memory yesterday when Bowling Green came in as a three-touchdown underdog and controlled most of the game against the Yellow Jackets. It was another poor performance for the defense and they will be in a big mismatch against a Miami team that is excellent running the ball.

After the game yesterday, Key spoke to the media and despite the poor performances on defense, he remains confident in his staff going forward:

"I have the same confidence in them that I do the rest of the staff. We will watch the tape, evaluate the tape, and meet with everyone tomorrow. There is no lack of confidence in the staff or people."

Miami is the best team that Georgia Tech will have played up to this point. Miami head coach Mario Cristobal seems to have his team heading in the right direction after last year's 5-7 season, Miami already has a big win over Texas A&M, and quarterback Tyler Van Dyke is playing like one of the best quarterbacks in the country.

Last season, Miami defeated Georgia Tech in Atlanta 35-14. It was a close game up until Zach Pyron was injured and then Miami's defense forced turnovers and took the game over. In the overall series, Miami leads 14-13 and the Hurricanes hold an 11-7 advantage over Georgia Tech since joining the ACC in 2004. Miami has won five of the last seven matchups against Georgia Tech and six of the last seven meetings in Miami.

The game will kickoff at 8:00 p.m.
