Following the departures of running back Antonio Martin and defensive lineman Grey Carroll, redshirt sophomore tight end Ben Postma has also departed the program for the transfer portal.

He announced his decision on Twitter.

Postma came to Tech from Cypress Ranch H.S out of Texas as a three-star recruit (per Rivals, 24/7 Sports and ESPN). During his two years at Tech, he appeared in three games, exclusively on special teams. However, he did not take part in Saturday's spring game.

In the spring game, Tech's tight end room looked solid and guys like Dylan Leonard, Brett Seither, and Billy Ward looked like they were going to be the main guys used at the position this season. Transferring will likely give Postma a chance to get reps and get on the field and develop into a good player.

Best of luck to Ben!
