Report: Georgia Tech Special Teams Coach Ricky Brumfield Set To Interview With Los Angeles Rams

Brumfield was the Yellow Jackets Special Teams Coach Last Season

According to 247Sports Matt Zenitz, Georgia Tech Special Teams Coach Ricky Brumfield is set to interview with the Los Angeles Rams for their assistant special teams coaching job.

Brumfield was the special teams coach for the Yellow Jackets last season and was also one of their top recruiters, having strong connections to the Louisiana area.

As Zenitz says, he is just interviewing for the job and has not taken the job. This will be a situation to keep an eye on.

Georgia Tech's special teams were a disaster in 2022 but improved under Brumfield this season.

From his bio at Georgia Tech Athletics

"Brumfield came to Tech after serving as associate head coach/special teams coordinator/outside linebackers coach at Florida International in 2022. Prior to his one season at FIU, he spent four seasons as special teams coordinator at Virginia, where he helped lead the Cavaliers to the 2019 ACC Coastal Division championship. UVA never finished below .500 in his four seasons with the program after suffering six-straight losing seasons prior to his arrival.

He has also served as special teams coordinator at Texas-San Antonio (2016-17), Western Kentucky (2013-15), Nicholls State (2011-12), Fairmont State (2004-10) and Union (Ky.) College (2001-03).
