Not much movement in the last week in ACC Recruiting

The month of August brings the dead period in college football recruiting, but there were still some key commitments for ACC programs this week and could be more to come.

Georgia Tech is now up to 25 commitments after their latest additions. Indiana-based tight end Lane Wadle and three-star offensive tackle Jameson Riggs have solidified what is still a top-five class in the ACC. The Yellow Jackets are full speed ahead toward the 2023 season.

Florida State, Clemson, and Miami are still comfortably ahead of everyone else in the conference and it could continue to grow. Florida State is in the thick of things for five-star safety K.J. Bolden, who is committing on Saturday and that would give the Seminoles three-five star commits and two in the secondary (five-star cornerback Charles Lester is the other).

North Carolina has put a little distance between itself and Georgia Tech for the fourth spot. The Tar Heels now have six-four star commitments and could be adding more to try and close the gap between themselves and Miami.

There has been a slight change after the top five. Virginia Tech has jumped Duke for the No. 6 spot and the Blue Devils are now at No. 7. It is a small margin between those schools and Pitt is also lurking behind Virginia Tech and Duke.

Wake Forest, Syracuse, and Louisville are No. 9-11, the same as it was last week, and NC State, Virginia, and Boston College are No. 12-14. The Cavaliers got a nice pickup this week when three-star tight end Jewett Hayes joined the 2024 class, giving UVA 13 commitments.
