Adam Morrison on Gonzaga-UCLA rivalry: 'We're sick of playing them and they're probably sick of playing us'

The Bulldogs and Bruins have engaged in some heated battles over the years

It was the rivalry between teams that hadn't played each other, as the No. 11 Gonzaga Bulldogs and UCLA Bruins met for the fourth consecutive season when the two programs squared off in the Maui Invitational consolation bracket. Each team featured an abundance of new faces unfamiliar with the budding West Coast rivalry, but they quickly learned what kind of rock-fight the matchup entailed based on previous meetings.

From Jalen Suggs' halfcourt buzzer-beater in the 2021 Final Four to Julian Strawther's go-ahead triple in last season's Sweet 16 in Las Vegas, the Bulldogs have found ways to sneak out victories over the Bruins in the most miraculous ways possible. That wasn't quite the case in Honolulu, as the staggering amount of foul calls came to define the latest installment of the rivalry. Not to mention Anton Watson's 32-point outing that saved the Bulldogs' sputtering offense.

For all the memories between Gonzaga and UCLA, former All-American Adam Morrison suggests the two programs are likely tired of seeing each other season after season. Watch what Morrison had to say about the rivalry on a new episode of The Perimeter.
