Dan Dickau on Gonzaga's NCAA Tournament outlook: 'I don't think the doom and gloom from the fans is warranted'

Dickau and Gonzaga Nation reporter Cole Forsman talk about how Gonzaga is playing its best basketball of the season

For some time now the Gonzaga Bulldogs have been flirting with the 2024 NCAA Tournament as a bubble team in the eyes of most bracketology experts, a rare place to be for a program that has earned 24 consecutive NCAA Tournament berths.

Early season losses to high-profile opponents coupled with a few frustrating letdowns in the final moments of close games dropped Gonzaga (19-6, 9-2 WCC) out of consideration for an at-large bid according to most prognosticators. Fortunes changed for the better after an 89-85 upset at Kentucky last Saturday, as well as some help from other bubble teams around the country, which has put the Bulldogs back into postseason conversations as one of the last teams to get in, according to ESPN Bracketology expert Joe Lunardi.

Still, some fans and experts have a gloomy view of Gonzaga's NCAA Tournament outlook. Former Gonzaga All-American Dan Dickau broke down why the Bulldogs have reason for optimism - and a clear path to the Big Dance - on a new episode of Gonzaga Nation. Watch the full episode in the video above.
