Drew Timme suffers broken foot

Timme was having success in the NBA G League

Former Gonzaga men's basketball star Drew Timme has a fracture in his left foot and will be sidelined for the remainder of the season, Gonzaga Nation has confirmed.

Timme is in his rookie season with the Milwaukee Bucks G League team, the Wisconsin Herd. Timme is averaging 9.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists.

The Herd released a statement on Thursday thanking Timme and announcing he will undergo season-ending surgery.

After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, Timme signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Herd. He has had several big games this season - including a 30-point, 10-rebound, 6-assist performance in early December - and has put himself in position to earn a 10-day contract from an NBA team. The injury obviously puts a damper on that possibility this season.

"Listen, I think he's an NBA player," Gonzaga coach Mark Few said earlier this season. "He's just too good of a basketball player, too good of a guy and too good of a teammate to not have on an (NBA) roster."

Timme is Gonzaga's all-time leading scorer and had one of the most impressive college basketball careers in recent history. He was a three-time All-American and a two-time West Coast Conference Player of the Year. His 301 points in the NCAA Tournament ranks sixth all-time.
