Gonzaga must stay laser-focused on the road against Loyola Marymount: 'Nobody on this roster wants there to be a slip up'
Following their biggest win of the season to this point, the Gonzaga Bulldogs are back on the road to face the Loyola Marymount Lions on Thursday.
Gonzaga (18-6, 8-2 WCC) enters the West Coast Conference tilt after a thrilling 89-85 upset over then-No. 17 Kentucky on Saturday. The Bulldogs executed down the stretch, scoring on 18 of their final 22 possessions after trailing by six in the second half, while holding the Wildcats' top-ranked scoring offense without a field goal over the final two minutes. Graham Ike led the way with 23 points, while Nolan Hickman and Anton Watson had 17 each.
On top of earning the team's first Quad 1 win of the season, the poise and focus in crunch time was a big step forward for a program that had struggled to close out tightly contested games on a few occasions this team.
Now the Bulldogs look to stay sharp on the road against a Lions squad riddled with injuries — Dominick Harris (knee) was listed as doubtful while Keli Leaupepe (plantar fasciitis) is slated to miss his third-straight game.
