How to watch Gonzaga vs. Saint Mary's in 2023 WCC Tournament Championship

After each earned a share of the regular season title, No. 9 Gonzaga and No. 16 St. Mary's will meet for the final time Tuesday (March 7) to decide the West Coast Conference Tournament championship.

Gonzaga (27-5, 14-2 WCC) secured its spot in the championship game with an 84-73 win against No. 6 seed San Francisco Monday night. Anton Watson led the charge for the Zags with a team-high 20 points, while Drew Timme added 17 and Julian Strawther scored 15. 

Timme is now just five points shy of passing Frank Burgess for the all-time leading scorer in Gonzaga program history.

St. Mary's (26-6, 14-2 WCC) also played Monday night, earning the chance to play for the tournament championship with a 76-69 win over No. 5 seed BYU. 

The Zags and Gaels split the season series with the home team emerging victorious in both matchups. St. Mary's pulled out an overtime thriller 78-70 when the two met in Moraga on February 4, then Gonzaga returned the favor with a 77-68 win in Spokane to close out the WCC regular season on February 25. 

Now, the two meet once again to decide the WCC Tournament champion and earn an automatic bid in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. 

This game marks the 113th all-time meeting between Gonzaga and Saint Mary's and it will be the fourth time in the past five seasons the Bulldogs and Gaels have squared off in the conference championship game.

Gonzaga won each of the previous two championship matchups beating St. Mary's 84-66 in 2020 and 82-69 last year, but it was the Gaels who had the final laugh in 2019 with a 60-47 victory. 

That 2019 loss was also the last time Gonzaga failed to win the WCC Tournament.
