After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, former Gonzaga men's basketball star Drew Timme kept his NBA hopes alive on Friday.

The program's all-time leading scorer signed his first professional basketball contract with the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. Timme averaged 4.3 points and 2.5 rebounds in four games with the Bucks' 2023 NBA Summer League squad in Las Vegas.

Timme's signing was announced by Seven1 Sports Agency, his representative, in an Instagram post.

The Bucks originally signed Timme to an Exhibit 10 contract in June, which is a minimum contract that can be converted to a two-way deal prior to the start of the season. The details of Timme's current deal with Milwaukee are unknown.

A three-time All-American, Timme averaged 17.2 points and 6.7 rebounds over his four-year career with the Bulldogs and was a finalist for both the Wooden Award and Naismith Trophy during his senior season. He is Gonzaga's all-time leading scorer with 2,307 points and his 301 points in NCAA Tournament games ranks sixth-most in history. For his efforts, Timme was awarded back-to-back WCC Player of the Year awards in 2012-22 and 2022-23.

Timme is also seventh in Gonzaga men’s basketball wins, with 121 total career wins, and set the program single-season record with 313 made field goals

Now, the 6-foot-10 Texan has a chance to prove himself at the professional level, as he'll bolster Milwaukee's frontcourt depth behind 15-year NBA veteran Brook Lopez, who just recently signed a two-year, $48 million contract in July to stay with the Bucks. Timme would be the third center on the roster along with Brook's bother, Robin.
