WHAT COACH JONES SAID ABOUT SWAC GAMES
Last week, Tigers head coach Johnny Jones discussed the transition from nonconference to conference play with HBCU Legends after defeating CBS at home. "We're excited. I thought the good way to end our, nonconference schedule tonight. Against the team here at home, I thought all of our guys had an opportunity to play. I thought they played well. But as I said, that's the end of it. Now we get into conference play starting at 6th at Southern, and then on the 8th, we're playing there at Grambling. So now you can remove all the things that's happened in the, preseason, get in the conference play, and it's amazing basketball, and it's conference time. It's a whole different level, and our guys know the intensity level is going to rise."
Coach Jones spoke about the problems the Jaguars could pose for his team. "The Jaguars are a good basketball team. They got a brand new basketball coach, so they'll be different. It'll be a different look for us, but they've knocked off, UNLV already at their place. They've gone to Mississippi State and won. So, two big nonconference wins for them, and they're very good basketball teams. So there will definitely be a challenge. We've got to be ready to play."
