The Cougars did their part to set up that upcoming showdown on Monday night, as five players scored in double figures as Houston picked up its 20th win of the season after a 76-65 win against Baylor at the Fertitta Center.

It was the 10th consecutive season Houston (20-4, 12-1) has had 20 or more wins, all under veteran coach Kelvin Sampson, who also recorded his 28th career 20-win season in his illustrious coaching career. Monday's win put the Cougars in sole possession of first place in the Big 12, pending the outcome of Arizona's game at Kansas State, which will be played on Tuesday night.

Graduate guard LJ Cryer led five Houston players in double figures Monday with 14 points. Junior point guard Milos Uzan added 12 points, while sophomore guard Terrance Arceneaux had 11. The Cougars also got 10 points apiece from J'Wan Roberts and Emanuel Sharp, who made his return to the court after sitting out last week's games with an injury.

POSTGAME STATS AND ANALYSIS
- Houston shot 50.9 percent from the field (27-of-53). Baylor had the exact same field goal attempts and made field goals in both halves, making 11-of-19 in each half, shooting 57.9 percent (22-of-38).
- Baylor had four players in double figures, led by Norchad Omier's 19 points. Langston Love added 15, and freshman VJ Edgecombe scored 14. Robert Wright with 10 points as well. Bears had only one point from their reserves, with Houston getting 24 points from its bench.
- LJ Cryer led the Cougars with 14 points and hit four 3's. Milos Uzan had 12 points, Terrance Arceneaux with 11 and Emanuel Sharp and J'Wan Roberts each had 10 points.
- Houston picks up its 20th win on the season with a solid home win against Baylor. Point guard Milos Uzan scored 12 points, one of five Cougars in double figures, and also had six assists and did not commit a single turnover.
