Mary Ashley Stevenson provided a huge spark for Purdue, scoring 25 points and grabbing nine rebounds in the win. Other double-figure scorers included Caitlyn Harper with 16 and Madison Layden with 14. Jeanae Terry finished the night with 14 rebounds, nine points and nine rebounds.
"Guys, it feels good to win," coach Katie Geralds said after the game. "It feels good. January was tough. We'll take it, all day everyday — 500 is a great number."
Although Purdue has struggled on the court recently, the friendly confines of Mackey Arena have been beneficial. The Boilermakers are 9-3 on their home floor this season.
All three losses at Mackey have come against the Big Ten's ranked opponents: No. 2 Iowa, No. 5 Ohio State and No. 14 Indiana.
Purdue will try to carry some momentum in a weekend rivalry game against Indiana. The Hoosiers are a perfect 11-0 at Assembly Hall this season.
