Purdue Women's Basketball Announces Sellout Crowd for Matchup vs. Iowa

Purdue has announced a sellout crowd for Wednesday night's game against No. 3 Iowa. Can the Boilermakers upset Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes at Mackey Arena?

Wednesday's women's basketball game between No. 3 Iowa and Purdue at Mackey Arena will be played in front of a sellout crowd. The Boilermakers made the announcement with a post on X on Monday.

"We told you to pack Mackey," the social media post read. "You delivered. SELLOUT."

Per Purdue's post, it's the second sellout for Purdue's women's basketball program since Katie Geralds took over in 2021. The first was last year's game against in-state rival Indiana.

A big draw for Wednesday's game is obviously Caitlin Clark, the leading scorer in women's college basketball and the reigning National Player of the Year. But the Boilermaker-heavy crowd will be pulling for a massive upset.

Wednesday's contest is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET with the game airing on Peacock. The Hawkeyes enter with a 15-1 record while Purdue sits at 9-5.

Purdue will also take advantage of the sellout crowd to help those in need. The athletic department announced a food and clothing drive for the game.

"A sellout crowd to support those in need," the post said. "Bring gently used winter clothes or non-perishable/canned food items to Mackey Arena tomorrow night to donate to Lafayette Urban Ministries and ACE food pantry."

Iowa currently owns a perfect record in Big Ten play, sitting at 4-0. Purdue is 2-1, with the lone loss coming to Minnesota.
