Jayquan Reid is dynamite with the football in his hands. Iowa would like for that to happen in Hawkeye Black and Gold.

The Big Ten program offered him a scholarship on Thursday. It represented his second opportunity (Central Florida) from a Power 5 program.

He's intrigued.

"I like how they produce players to the NFL," Reid said of the Hawkeyes.

Reid (6-0, 170) previously reported offers from Liberty, Toledo, Western Carolina, Middle Tennessee State, Marshall, Florida International, Appalachian State, Georgia State, Western Michigan, Central Michigan, Akron, Florida Atlantic and others. UAB offered Friday. He's visited FIU and South Florida.

Iowa will get a visit from Reid, he said. The Miami (FL) Southridge High receiver hasn't set a date.

"I want to learn about the atmosphere and energy around the school," he said.

Rivals and 247Sports rank Reid as a three-star recruit. The latter sees him as the 122nd best athlete and the No. 160 overall player in Florida for 2024.

In 10 games as a junior, Reid caught 45 passes for 593 yards and three touchdowns, according to Max Preps. He racked 455 kick-return yards, showing good feel, vision and moves in doing so.

"I was told (by Iowa) that I were special with the ball in my hands," he said.

Reid looks forward to learning more about Iowa's academic opportunities when he visits. He plans on studying Sports Medicine in college.
