The Kansas Jayhawks signed many talented athletes throughout the 2024 class.

One of the athletes to sign his NLI (National Letter of Intent) is Deshawn Warner.

Warner is an edge rusher who played high school ball at Desert Edge High School in Goodyear, Arizona. He was a four-star and ranked No. 67th in the nation being a high-level four-star and borderline five-star. Warner committed back on July 1st.

He recently caught up with Blue Wings Rising to update his recruitment and to detail his decision.

“I felt Kansas was the best choice for me because mine and the coach's visions aligned on where we see not only my success but the success of the program for years to come, and just the relationship that I have built with the coaches and players I’m glad to call those guys family,” Warner stated to Blue Wings Rising.

“People can expect me to do whatever it takes to not only be great but make the people around me great.”

He talks about recruiting players to come in and play with him at Kansas.

“There aren't any specific players I would like to play with. Of course, I would love to play with the more guys from my high school but besides that, I trust the coaches to bring in the best of the best. I've been recruiting guys to come to Kansas mainly guys in the 25' class being that they are coming next.”

“Coaches that made my decision easier are definitely guys like Coach Leipold, Coach O, Coach Greg, and Coach Panagos, but I can give credit to the whole coaching staff at the end of the day because it's the environment that made it feel like home. My expectations going forward are for us to continue to go in the right direction as a whole and wake the world up about Kansas football.”
