John Calipari predicts Reed Sheppard's NBA future

Will Reed Sheppard be a lottery pick.

What Reed Sheppard is going to do when it comes to the NBA was a talking point for Kentucky fans before Coach Calipari left for Arkansas. Now that Calipari is the Razorbacks head coach, this gets even more interesting.

It feels like Sheppard would be crazy not to go to the NBA, as he would be a top-ten pick. Kentucky fans were hoping that he would come back to Kentucky, but a wrench was thrown in that.

During his introductory speech at Arkansas, Coach Calipari said, "He's going to be a lottery pick" talking about Sheppard. Now, of course, he didn't say this year for sure, but once again, Sheppard will be a top ten pick with a chance at going top five. He would be crazy to stay in college.

If, for some reason, Sheppard did come back to college, you have to assume he would come back to Lexington and not follow Calipari to Arkansas. His NIL opportunities would be a lot better in Lexington unless some of the heavy donors hit him with a lot of money in Fayetteville.

But in all honesty, I don't believe any of this will matter, and I feel that Sheppard will declare for the NBA Draft in the next couple of days.

In his freshman season, Sheppard was the best three-point shooter in all of college basketball. This excited NBA scouts on top of his elite passing ability and quick hands on defense.

Sheppard will be the next great former Kentucky guard in the NBA.
