Mark Pope made Rupp Arena erupt when he used the term "Sheppard"

This was the can't miss moment of Mark Pope's introductory speech.

Mark Pope's introductory press conference proved there is no better fan base in college hoops than Big Blue Nation.

Every single seat in Rupp Arena was filled with a screaming Kentucky fan, making this environment feel like it was a game against Louisville or Tennesee when, in all reality, it was a press conference.

One of the best moments was when Coach Pope said, " I believe these players, man, our job as coaches, we get to be Sheppard's." After he said the word, Sheppard, he paused for dramatic effect, and Rupp Arena got just about as loud as I have ever heard it.

After pausing, Coach Pope looked over at his old roommate and teammate Jeff Sheppard, Reed's dad, and just smiled. At this point, all of Rupp Arena screamed, "One more year," for nearly a minute.

While I still believe Sheppard will enter his name in the upcoming NBA Draft, it was really cool to see just how much Big Blue Nation loves the Sheppard family and how ecstatic they would be to see him wear the Kentucky jersey for one more season.

Sheppard will be a top ten pick in the upcoming NBA Draft if he does decide to make the move to the NBA, and when you watch his college tape, it makes sense why. He was the best shooter in all of college basketball last season and is an elite facilitator.

Regardless of what Sheppard decides when it comes to his future, he will always be a Wildcat and a fan favorite in Lexington.
