Louisville Women's Basketball's 2023-24 ACC Schedule Announced
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Cardinals 2023-24 schedule is now complete after the ACC announced the full conference slate Tuesday night. The 18-game conference schedule will hold nine home games and nine road games and the Cardinals will face four opponents at home and on the road.
In total, The Cardinals will have 16 home games at the KFC Yum! Center and will compete in one of the toughest conferences in the country. The Cardinals will have 11 games against teams that made the NCAA Tournament last season and have five games against teams that made the Sweet 16 or further. The Cardinals will also be on nationally television a number of times as 19 of their 31 games will be broadcast to a national audience.
The ACC slate begins on the road for the Cardinals as they will take on Miami in Coral Gables on December 31. The Hurricanes were one of three ACC teams to make the Elite Eight last season. In their lone meeting last season, the Cardinals defeated the Hurricanes 71-57 at the Yum! Center.
The ACC home opener will take place on Thursday, January 4, when the Cardinals welcome Duke to the Yum! Center. The Cardinals are 7-4 all-time against the Blue Devils and have won five of the last six matchups between the two schools.
Following the bye weekend, the Cardinals go back on the road to face their first of four dual opponents on the season. Louisville travels to Pittsburgh and will face the Panthers on Thursday, January 11. The Panthers will make their return trip to Louisville on Sunday, January 28. Louisville is 25-2 all-time against Pitt and have won 21-straight games over the Panthers.
Louisville returns home for a game before starting a two-game road trip the following week. The Cardinals host Wake Forest on Sunday, January 14 and it will be the 12th all-time meeting between the two schools. The Cardinals are 10-1 against Wake and defeated the Demon Deacons in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals last season.
The two-game road trip will have the Cardinals hit both Carolina states as it starts in South Carolina with a matchup against Clemson on Thursday, January 18. The road trip ends in Chapel Hill as the Cardinals and Tar Heels face off on Sunday, January 21. Louisville defeated both schools last season at KFC Yum! Center and have won 11-straight games over Clemson.
A three-game homestand is on deck following the Carolina road swing and all three opponents the Cardinals face are their dual opponents for the year. The homestand opens with a matchup against Boston College on Thursday, January 25 and is followed by the return game against the Panthers. The homestand concludes with a Thursday night matchup against Syracuse on February 1.
Three of the next four games will be on the road for the Cardinals and it begins on Monday, February 5 against NC State. The Cardinals and Wolfpack will face off in the Play 4 Kay game in Raleigh.
The Cardinals lone home game in the four-game stretch will occur on Thursday, February 8 against their final home-and-home opponent in Notre Dame. The Cardinals and Fighting Irish squared off three times last season and the Cardinals won the final meeting in the ACC Tournament semifinals.
The next two road games will be against home-and-home opponents for the Cardinals, starting with Syracuse on Sunday, February 11. The Cardinals are 19-7 all-time against the Orange and have won seven-straight games in the series. The final road game of the four-game stretch will be against Boston College on Thursday, February 15. The Cardinals are 14-1 all-time against the Eagles and have won 14-straight in the series.
Three of the next four games will be at the KFC Yum! Center for the Cardinals starting on Sunday, February 18 against Virginia Tech. The Hokies were the third ACC team with the Hurricanes and the Cardinals to reach the Elite Eight or farther last season with the Hokies advancing to the Final Four.
The lone road game in this four-game stretch will be in Atlanta as the Cardinals face off with Georgia Tech on Thursday, February 22. The Cardinals are 10-0 all-time against the Yellow Jackets.
The final homestand of the regular season begins on Sunday, February 25 as the Cardinals host Virginia. The Cardinals are 12-2 all-time against the Cavaliers and have won 11-straight against Virginia. The final home game of the regular season will be against Florida State on Thursday, February 29. The Cardinals trail 17-19 in the series history but have won three of the last four games against the Seminoles.
The final game of the regular season will be in South Bend against Notre Dame on Sunday, March 3.
