Highlights, Photos and Notes: Louisville 73, Bellarmine 68

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Hosting crosstown foe Bellarmine, the Louisville men's basketball program was able to avenge last year's season-opening loss to the Knights, overcoming a halftime deficit and holding off a second half rally to escape with a 73-68 win.

Team Notes:
- KEY FIRST HALF RUN: With both teams trading blows for much of the first 20 minutes, the Knights utilized a 13-3 run over the final 6:21 of the first half to take a 27-20 lead, but a buzzer-beating layup from Tre White cut the Louisville deficit to five heading into the locker room.
- KEY SECOND HALF RUN: The Cardinals opened up a 48-36 lead on the strength of a 16-1 run starting at the 14:26 mark and elapsing 4:40.
- Bellarmine was able to whittle the lead down to two with 8.3 seconds remaining, but a pair of free throws from White put the game out of reach.
- UofL shot 25 of 58 (43.1%) from the field, 7 of 24 (29.2%) from 3-point range, and 16 of 22 (72.7%) from the free-throw line.
- The Cardinals tied a season-high for three-pointers made (7) while setting a new season-best with 13 assists.
Player Notes:
- Skyy Clark eclipsed the 20-point mark for the second consecutive game, pouring in 21 points while shooting 7 of 13 from the field, 3 of 8 from three-point range, and 4 of 4 from the charity stripe. Clark set a new career-high with five assists while also grabbing a pair of rebounds in just under 38 minutes of action.
- Brandon Huntley-Hatfield finished just shy of a double-double, scoring nine points while pulling down 10 rebounds and blocking two shots.
- Tre White tallied 14 points, cashing in on 3 of his 8 attempts from the field and finishing 7 of 8 from the free throw line, while also snaring four rebounds.
- Mike James shot 4 of 8 from the floor and 2 of 5 from beyond the arc, totaling 10 points to go along with four rebounds.
- Ty-Laur Johnson scored all eight of his points in the second half while dishing out five assists and grabbing two rebounds.
