LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville men's basketball program, at long last, finally was able to win a game in ACC play, taking down Georgia Tech 68-58 to snap a 10-game losing streak on the season.

The Atlantic Coast Conference put together a highlight tape of the matchup, which you can see here:

Team Notes:

  • The victory snaps a 10-game losing streak for the Cardinals, with their last win coming on Dec. 17 over Florida A&M.
  • Louisville has now won four straight games over the Yellow Jackets and the Cardinals now lead the alltime series 25-14.
  • Kenny Payne picked up the first ACC win of his head coaching career and now owns a 3-19 record overall.
  • UofL used the starting lineup of El Ellis, Mike James, Jae’Lyn Withers, JJ Traynor and Sydney Curry for the third game this season. This lineup is now 1-2 this season.
  • KEY FIRST HALF RUN: After falling into an 8-4 deficit, the Cardinals reeled off a 10-1 run keyed by two 3-pointers from Jae’Lyn Withers starting at the 14:15 mark to open up a five-point lead. The Cardinals held a slim advantage for the remainder of the half, largely due to Withers’ 14 first-half points.
  • KEY SECOND HALF RUN: The two teams traded baskets for most of the second half as Georgia Tech stayed within striking distance but could not reclaim the lead. The Cardinals hit six of their last eight field goal attempts from the floor to turn a 47-45 lead with 9:02 to go into a 68-58 win.
  • UofL shot 21 of 46 (.457) from the field, 7 of 19 (.368) from 3-point range, and 19 of 26 (.731) from the free-throw line.
  • The Cardinals grabbed 46 rebounds as a team, the most they have tallied in a game this season, while out-rebounding Georgia Tech by 14.
  • Georgia Tech shot 29.5% from the field and 25.9% from beyond the arc, both of which stand as the worst shooting percentages for a Louisville opponent this season.
  • The Cardinals held the lead for 32:50 of game time, never relinquishing it after taking an 11-8 lead with 12:08 remaining in the first half.

Player Notes:

  • Jae'Lyn Withers finished with a season-high 19 points and tied a career-high with 13 rebounds while also notching two steals in 35 minutes of action. The forward shot 4 of 8 from the field, 4 of 6 from 3-point range, and 7 of 9 from the charity stripe, setting new career-best marks in 3-point field goals made, free throws made, and free throws attempted.
  • El Ellis finished with 11 points, marking the 19th time this season he has scored in double figures. The guard also dished out four assists and pulled down six rebounds, which tied a career high.
  • Kamari Lands poured in 11 points on 2 of 4 shooting from the field while nailing all six of his free throw attempts. He also tied a career-high with five rebounds. Lands’ 3-pointer with 43 seconds remaining as the shot clock expired gave the Cardinals a seven-point advantage that allowed them to put the game away.
  • J.J. Traynor scored in double figures for the third time this season, notching 10 points while also snaring four rebounds in 25 minutes of action
