Highlights, Photos and Notes: Louisville 61, Coppin State 41

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Despite not playing their best basketball on either end of the floor, the Louisville men's basketball program was still able to come out with a 20-point win, bouncing back to take down Coppin State before heading to New York City for the Empire Classic.

Team Notes:
- KEY FIRST HALF RUN: The Cardinals closed the half out on a 13-3 run, starting at 6:30 and elapsing 6:30 of game time as Louisville took a 32-21 lead into the locker room.
- KEY SECOND HALF RUN: Louisville reeled off an 8-0 run early in the second half that started at 18:39 and elapsed 2:46, putting the Cardinals in control at 40-23.
- Coppin State came within 14 with 14:08 left, but that was as close as the Eagles would get for the rest of the night.
- UofL shot 22 of 56 (39.3%) from the field, 6 of 21 (28.6%) from 3-point range, and 11 of 14 (78.6%) from the free-throw line.
- The Cardinals controlled the glass, earning a 45-33 edge in the rebound battle, including 14 offensive rebounds.
- Coppin State’s 41 points are the least the Cardinals have allowed since an 86-41 win over Central Arkansas on December 5, 2018, and just the third time the Cardinals have allowed 41 points or less since 2016.
- The 61-41 win is the first time Louisville has won by 20+ points in non-exhibition play since defeating Southeastern Louisiana 86-60 on December 14, 2021.
- Louisville led for 34:50 of the game tonight, while only trailing for 2:02.
Player Notes:
- Tre White tallied his first career double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds in 33 minutes of action.
- Mike James recorded a team-high 12 points while shooting 4 of 7 from the field and 3 of 3 from the line. James has been in double figures in all three games this season. The guard/forward added three rebounds and two assists to his ledger while being a team-high +21 in his 30 minutes on the floor.
- Skyy Clark joined James and White in double-digit scoring, totaling 10 points and adding five rebounds. Clark also had a steal and a block in 30 minutes of play.
- Brandon Huntley-Hatfield registered six points, seven rebounds, and two assists in 24 minutes of action.
- Curtis Williams scored a career-high eight points with two made 3-pointers.
