How to Watch Louisville Cardinals vs. Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders: Live Stream, TV Channel, Start Time

The Cardinals are kicking off their NCAA Tournament run with a first round matchup against the Blue Raiders.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Louisville women's basketball program is ready to begin their NCAA Tournament, and the quest for their first ever national championship starts with a first round matchup against Middle Tennessee State.

By their typically lofty standards, Louisville had a bit of a down season. They entered the year as the No. 17 team in the nation, but struggled at times during the regular season. This was especially the case down the stretch, with Cardinals entering the NCAA Tournament having dropped six of their last 11.

That being said, Louisville was able to clinch their 14th consecutive 20-win season, and 16th overall in 17 seasons under head coach Jeff Walz. As per the usual with the program, a couple Louisville players received league honors following the regular season's end, with guard Kiki Jefferson and forward Olivia Cochran both being named Second-Team All-ACC.

Middle Tennessee State made their way into the NCAA Tournament field by way of capturing the Conference USA Tournament, and as Louisville learned in the past, they will be a tough out. Last season's MTSU squad dealt the Cardinals a 67-49 defeat early in the 2022-23 season down in Murfreesboro.
