Louisville Makes Top Six for Washington Transfer Guard Keyon Menifield

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - As the Louisville men's basketball program continues to reshape their roster for the 2023-24 season, they have moved one step closer to potentially landing one of their top transfer portal targets.
Former Washington guard Keyon Menifield announced his top six transfer destinations on Sunday, with the Cardinals still in the running. Alabama, Arkansas, Ohio State and Tennessee are still in the running, as is a return to the Huskies.
While the 6-foot-1, 150-pound point guard was only ranked as the No. 217 overall prospect in the Class of 2022 according to the 247Sports Composite, he went on to have a very productive freshman campaign for the Huskies this past season.
He put up the second-most points per game on the team with 10.0, shot 41.0 percent from the field and 33.0 percent on threes, while also adding 3.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds over 32 games and 21 starts. He was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team for his efforts.
Since the end of their season, where they went just 4-28 under first year head coach Kenny Payne, roster management has been in full swing for the Cardinals. On top of losing leading scorer El Ellis to the NBA Draft, Louisville has seen six players enter the transfer portal: Kamari Lands, Devin Ree, Fabio Basili, Sydney Curry, Roosevelt Wheeler and Jae'Lyn Withers.
Conversely, Payne and his staff have been hard at work behind the scenes attempting to bring in fresh talent for next season. Last month, the Cardinals landed former Illinois guard Skyy Clark, five-star 2023 center Dennis Evans and five-star 2023 reclass wing Trentyn Flowers. Louisville is also set to welcome top-70 wings Kaleb Glenn and Curtis Williams Jr., plus JUCO guard Koron Davis as part of their 2023 signing class.
